When approached by Natuzzi to partake in this project the task appeared daunting - how can such a well known design be re-interpretated? Bianchi highlighted Natuzzi's design giving the chair a " Midas touch " by screwing in to the upholstery 9,400 golden screw by hand. Woollahra, one of Sydney's most prestigious neighbourhoods. I was drawn to the table's charm and its potential. Once in the workshop, I worked on the link between the origin of the table and the final product it was to become. This table 'closes the circle' :it goes back to the root, but in an industrial way. It has a recognizable shape but I could not grasp it at first. it's one of the most simple shapes, a cross inside a circle, the same as the top of a screw.
